Scholarship/Sponsorship Info Juneteenth Scholarships Each year the Juneteenth Festival Planning Committee sponsors several book scholarships for African-American students whose permanent residence is in Pima County. Eligible students are graduating high school seniors and currently enrolled students in a community college or university who are planning to attend college in the Fall of 2003. To apply, send a letter to the Juneteenth Scholarship Fund Committee at 1665 S. La Cholla Blvd., Tucson, Arizona 85713 with your name, contact information, year of high school graduation and a short statement about your college plans. Additional application materials will then be sent to you. Deadline for the 2004 applications is May 31, 2004.
Juneteenth Sponsorships The Juneteenth Festival Planning Committee is a non-profit organization and welcomes donations both in-kind and in direct financial contributions. There are many opportunities to partner with the Juneteenth Planning Committee. Donations and inquires may be sent to the Juneteenth Festival Planning Committee at 1665 S. La Cholla Blvd., Tucson, Arizona 85713.
New committee members are always welcome. Weekly meetings are held at the Archer Center located on La Cholla Blvd., between San Juan Drive and San Marcos Drive. Remaining meetings for the 2004 Festival will be held on May 4th , May 11th, May 18th , May 25th, June 1st, June 8th and June 15th.
